Altitude Land Consultants led a partnership with the Collaborative Design Group and the Old Colorado City Foundation to provide conceptual graphics of how the park could better integrate into Old Colorado City. The park, when well-designed to integrate, can be an economic catalyst for the surrounding businesses. Today, the park exists with a park design more akin to a suburban park and tends to attract a less desirable group of people loitering unless it is programmed for a farmer’s market or event. Our design provided opportunities for activation with modifiable features in all four seasons.

Today, we’re happy to see that the City of Colorado Springs is working through the Public Process of redesigning the park, hopefully in a manner that fits the context of Bancroft Park as the Town Square for Old Colorado City.
