We were thrilled to provide streetscape design and a transformative design to Colorado Avenue in Old Colorado City. Our client was the Special Improvement and Maintenance District of Old Colorado City, comprised of business owners between 24th Street and 27th Street along Colorado Avenue. The current street configuration includes parallel parking, four lanes of vehicular traffic and a center turn lane.

The current conceptual plan for this stretch of Colorado Avenue includes two-lanes of vehicular lanes, bicycle lanes, turn lanes and reverse-angle parking. The proposed reverse-angle parking is estimated to double the quantity of on-street parking and allow for bicycle lanes to safely be included on Colorado Avenue.

A public process is planned to occur in Old Colorado City prior to implementation in 2017.
